A fragment of Roman glass dating back to the third century, which is one of thousands of artefacts found on the Vindolanda settlement, by Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland, England, Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 which will be going on display at an improved visitors center. The first part of the 1,800-year-old artefact was discovered in 1992 but archaeologists had to wait until last year to uncover the missing second half. Experts said it was amazing that the two pieces had been found 16 years apart and 50m (164 feet) from each other. Andrew Birley, director of excavations for the Vindolanda Trust, said: 'It is a unique piece made by artisans in Cologne and then sold to Roman soldiers.
